The fourth model in the Xiaomi 17 series has been unveiled. The Xiaomi 17 Max is a more affordable sibling of the 17 Pro Max. It lacks the secondary rear screen, replacing it with a higher-resolution 200 MP main camera and a larger 8000 mAh SiC battery.

According to Xiaomi, the 17 Max should provide more than two days of battery life in typical use, with the battery retaining up to 80% capacity even after 1,600 charge cycles or more than four years of daily use. When needed, it supports cable charging up to 100W and wireless charging up to 50W. Under the hood, the 17 Max is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The 17 Max features an impressive 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The panel’s peak brightness reaches 3500 nits, and the 32 MP front camera is housed in a notch, along with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. On the back is the aforementioned 200 MP main camera, equipped with a Samsung HP9 sensor. It supports a dynamic range of up to 13.5 EV, an aperture of ƒ/1.65, and optical image stabilization. It is complemented by a 50 MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, which is also suitable for macro photography. The third and final lens is a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with an equivalent focal length of 17 mm.
