MacBook Neo
The new ecosystem product was so popular with customers that the initial production plan of 5-6 million laptops was increased to 10 million, writes Culpium.
However, this interest coincided with a component shortage: Macs are short of memory, especially A18 chips. It would seem that the company should have faced a dilemma: increase production or, conversely, try to conserve the remaining devices. As the headline suggests, Apple chose the former.
On the other hand, increasing production capacity comes at a cost. For example, TSMC receives an additional premium for priority production of Apple chips. Moreover, the premium is so significant that the Taiwanese manufacturer is placing orders from Microsoft and Google on hold.
Culpium reports that this could lead to higher prices for the MacBook Neo. Most likely, this is simply a case of anxiety, as the laptop would then be pointless. Most likely, Apple will take the necessary amount from its financial cushion and then return it from Mac sales.
