Sony has changed the DRM
Purchased games on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will require internet access to verify the license. However, this will only happen once. There will be no verification every 30 days, and the license will not be revoked if it expires.
It’s unclear exactly when the security system will check the license, but Sony claims it’s a one-time process. Games will still be available for purchase and play, without a constant internet connection.
Previously, users online tried to figure out how the registration mechanism works. They agreed that if the console hasn’t been connected to the internet within 30 days of purchase, the game won’t launch offline. If the console connects to the servers, it will validate the license and won’t require any further verification.
